Welcome

We teach ballet using the Royal Academy of Dance [RAD] This is a comprehensive and beautiful syllabus that progresses through the grades.  Everything from teachers to examiners are of an International standard. We currently have two RTS (registered teacher status) teacher with a third on the way. Miss Marika also holds the honour of ARAD (Associate of the RAD) this means she has passed Advanced 2.

Pre Grades

Pre Primary and Primary

Pre Primary in Dance (PpiD) must turn 5 by June 1st - At this stage students attend one 3/4hr class per week however, a second class is optional at half price per week. This is the first time students may enter examinations, at this stage these assessments students are not failed all are granted a pass but everything else is just like an exam. The will receive a certificate, report & medal.

Primary in Dance (PiD) must turn 6 by June 1st - This is the first formal exam, students still have one class per week of 3/4 hr length with the option on attending a second class for half price.


Lower Grades

Grades 1-5

Grade 2 - Grade 5 - Students wishing to do exams are required to attend two, one hour classes per week in order to be prepared for exams, medal test, and/or solo performance assessment.


Grade 1 (B1) minimum age 7 by June 1st - Students wishing to do exams are required to attend at least one, one hour class per week in order to be prepared for exams, medal test, and/or solo performance assessment.

Higher Grades

Higher grades have been established to supplement students doing Vocational grades or as an alternative to Vocational grades for those who cannot commit to the increased hours Vocational's require.

Grade 6 - 8 will be taught throughout the year in vocational classes or at the end of these classes.


Vocational Grades

Vocational Grades from Intermediate foundation - Advanced 2 vocational ballet RAD is for the serious student, it requires at least 2 classes per week and more around exams time.
